Ellen Lye (daughter of James Lye and Maria Smith) was born on 3 August 1863. She was baptised on 13 September 1863 in Market Lavington. She married John William Duck (son of George Duck) on 12 November 1892 in Market Lavington.

William died on 27 June 1913 aged 48 and was on 4 July 1913 in Market Lavington. Ellen (aged 81) died on 6 March 1945 and was buried on 9 March 1945 alongside William in Market Lavington.
