At Harper & Debbage, the story is rooted in a passion for plant heritage, research, and cultivation.
Since 2009, the focus has been on developing and preserving National Plant Collections®, while advancing horticultural knowledge through careful propagation, documentation and exhibition.
Each collection represents years of study, patience and dedication, while continuing a long British tradition of plant conservation and horticultural excellence.

Our Collections
Fuchsia (James Lye Collection)
Recognised as a National Plant Collection® since 2012, this group preserves cultivars introduced by renowned hybridiser James Lye of Market Lavington, Wiltshire. It represents one of the most complete and well-documented living archives of his work, showcasing both historical and horticultural significance.
Fuchsia (Robin Clitheroe Collection)
A specialist project focusing on Fuchsia cultivars bred by Robin Clitheroe of Norwich, celebrating the creativity and expertise of a skilled local hybridiser.
This developing collection combines regional horticultural heritage with modern breeding excellence, ensuring that these cultivars are conserved and documented for future study.

Hyssopus Collection
Dedicated to the cultivation and study of Hyssopus (hyssop) varieties, this emerging collection celebrates the plant’s ornamental, aromatic and ecological value.

Oxalis Collection
A developing collection that showcases the diversity and adaptability of Oxalis species and hybrids. Selected for their delicate forms and seasonal interest, these plants reflect both conservation and aesthetic aims within the wider collection work.
